Application Process

Our Enrolment Policy is developed within the enrolment guidelines for the Archdiocese of Melbourne as they apply to secondary schools and is designed to be compatible with the College’s enrolment criteria and acceptance will be determined by the Canonical Administrators (Parish Priests) and Principal of Thomas Carr College. A list of priority parishes and an explanation of the Catholic school’s preference system can be found within the Enrolment Policy. Please see below a map of the Thomas Carr College enrolment zone.

Our Enrolment Procedure contains an explanation of the enrolment process, including those looking to join the College for year levels other than Year 7.

To apply for enrolment in Years 8-12, please collect an Enrolment Form and Pack from Reception at the Fr Ray Administration Office and return this with a copy of all required documentation.

Closing date for applications for enrolments in Year 7, 2026:

  • Monday 29 January 2024 – Application Open for students commencing Year 7 2026
  • Friday 16 August 2024 – Year 7 2026 Applications Close
  • Thursday 5 September 2024 – Year 7 2026 Enrolment Interviews
  • Friday 18 October 2024 – Year 7 2026 offers posted to prospective applicants.
  • Friday 8 November 2024 – Final date for families to accept offer made by College

Applications for Year 7 2025 are closed. Please contact our College Registrar to discuss the possibility of a waitlist position.

Priority Listing

Our College works on a priority listing which is:

  1. Catholic children who are residents of a designated priority parish and have attended a Catholic primary school in one of those parishes
  2. siblings of children already enrolled in the school
  3. Catholic children who are residents of a designated priority parish and have not attended a Catholic primary school
  4. Catholic children from other parishes (for pastoral reasons)
  5. children from non-Catholic Eastern churches (i.e. Greek Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Ukrainian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Serbian Orthodox and other Orthodox) who have attended a Catholic primary school and are residents of a priority parish
  6. children from non-Catholic Eastern churches (i.e. Greek Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Ukrainian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Serbian Orthodox and other Orthodox) who have not attended a Catholic primary school and are residents of a priority parish
  7. other Christian children who have attended a Catholic primary school and are residents of a priority parish
  8. other Christian children who have not attended a Catholic primary school and are residents of a priority parish
  9. non-Christian children who have attended a Catholic primary school and are residents of a priority parish
  10. non-Christian children who have not attended a Catholic primary school and are residents of a priority parish.

Local Public Transport

The College is accessible by bus via the public transport system. Public buses travel in both directions around the College and the closest stops are near the corner of Thomas Carr Drive and Rose Grange Boulevard.
