Contract Type: Full Time Permanent/Ongoing Position


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our College in the newly formed position of Assistant Business Manager.

We are seeking a passionate, dynamic and committed leader to join our Business Operations team. From budget to strategic financial management, you’ll be integral to our fiscal success. The full-time, ongoing position offers the opportunity to have responsibilities in the areas of Payroll, Finance and Administration.


The Role

  • Manage the College’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Prepare finance reports as required by Statutory Authorities
  • Prepare and submit all returns required by the Australian Taxation Office, including FBT and GST
  • Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processes
  • Collaborate with learning area leaders and department heads to develop and monitor budgets
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and accounting standards
  • Lead and manage staff in the finance and administration teams
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical behavior in all finance activities

Salary

The salary range $105,132 – $116,057 will be based on experience in accordance with the pay scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).

Key Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will have the following key attributes:

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to Catholic Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the finance sector and leadership experience preferred
  • Able to gain and keep a successful registration for a Working with Children Check and successfully passes a National Police Record History Check. Please note the College will only accept a National Police check obtained from Victoria Police.

Desirable

  • Prior experienced in a secondary school setting
  • Prior use and understanding of Synergetic
  • Post Graduate Business and/or education qualifications such a CA, CPA, MBA
