Vocational Training in the VCE

02 September 2022

It has been really good to see that so many of our students have selected to augment their senior secondary studies with VET courses. In total 101 students from Year 10 to Year 12 have applied.

Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VET) provides students with an opportunity to complete entry level industry qualifications alongside their senior secondary school certificates (VCE and VCE VM) some will directly count to the ATAR.

This provides the students with the real world experiences in the industry that they are wanting to pursue and they are taught by industry professionals. With courses to suit a range of industries including, business and IT, building and construction, music, hair and beauty as well as Early Childhood Education and Care, there are plenty of opportunities for your children to get involved.

The courses are understandably very popular so entry is not guaranteed, but please have a conversation with your child about starting a VET course in Year 10 or Year 11, if they are wanting to start in 2023 they need to make an appointment with Casey Backhouse or the Careers team before Friday 9 September 2022.
