In terms of overall Division results:

Congratulations to all students who represented us on the day. Special thanks to Mr Cheng and Mr Lacey for coaching our team in the lead up to this event and for providing Chess Club at the College as part of the Luminosity Co-Curricular Program.

Champions Cup Qualifiers- Basketball Victoria

On Tuesday 19 July, our Boys and Girls Under 15 Basketball Teams competed in the qualifying event for the Champions Cup at the State Basketball Centre. This tournament showcases the best Basketball teams in the state. Our boys started off very strong in their first game and managed to keep the ascendancy in all 3 round games that they played, going in undefeated to the Semi-finals. Unfortunately, the boys were unable to keep up the frantic pace of the Semi Final, going down to Rowville, thus sadly eliminating them from the competition.

The girls started slowly in their first two rounds, struggling to match it with the quality opposition. Our last game saw the girls acclimatise to the intensity of the competition, starting the game well and hitting the scoreboard more, however, unfortunately fell away in the last few minutes of the match.

Overall, the experience of the competition was amazing, and our students are now aware of what is needed to mix it with the best of the best. No doubt this will position us well for future competitions. A massive thanks to Mr Wirges and Ms Graham for all their work in the lead up to this day and for their coaching expertise.

Our Under 19’s Boys team have qualified and go straight through to the competition which will be played on August 16. We wish this team the best of luck. Hopefully their hard work in the preparation for this tournament pays off.
