2020 Commencement Mass

On Thursday February 6, we celebrated our Commencement Mass with Bishop Mark Edwards. Bishop Mark was joined by our canonical administrators, Fr Albert and Fr Silvio who concelebrated the Mass. Our 2020 College theme, ‘Be Strong and Good of Courage’ was talked about throughout the celebration and was the focus of Bishop Mark’s Homily.

Following the Mass we held our first Academic Assembly for 2020. Mr Andrew Bryson, Deputy Principal of Learning and Teaching, implored the students to make the most of the opportunities presented at Thomas Carr College and encouraged our teachers to be leaders in challenging our students to succeed. During the Assembly; we were able to formally acknowledge the high achieving students from the 2019 VCE. We acknowledged the recipients of the VCE Baccalaureate, our 40+ and 90+ students and our 2019 Dux, Theodorus Goenawan, who gave an inspirational speech addressed to the students of Thomas Carr College.

It is our hope that Theodorus’ speech has set the tone for the 2020 Academic year and has shown our students that they too, can shine.
