Careers and Pathways

Making decisions about careers and future pathways can be a confusing and challenging time for young people. Delivering high quality career development programs for our students is an important priority for the College.

The College Careers Hub is staffed with specialist career and education counsellors to provide programs for our students that will assist them to choose, plan and manage their career pathways. This involves one on one career counselling, networking with local employers, updating of educational and training requirements and regular promotion of careers events and news to all students.

Across the College the Career Counsellors aim to develop a strong foundation for our students in regards to career pathway planning with the recent introduction of the Victorian Careers Curriculum Framework. The Year 10 students complete work experience at the end of the Pentecost Term and ongoing career development builds upon this in the senior years.  Career Counsellors are also available to assist all students in their subject selection.

Thomas Carr College is inclusive of all pathway options both academic and/or applied learning. The Careers Hub is available to both students and their families.
