Staff Gather for Commencement of School Year

On Wednesday 28th January the staff from the four schools in the parish of St James the Apostle, Hoppers Crossing North came together to commence the new school year. The schools within the parish are St James the Apostle Primary School, St Francis of Assisi Primary School, Thomas Carr College and the newest primary school within the parish which opened this year, St Clare’s Primary School Truganina.

Fr Jude Pirotta, Parish Priest celebrated Mass and took the opportunity to acknowledge the commencement of St Clare’s Primary School and to welcome all new staff. Ms Jan Keogh, Principal of St Francis of Assisi Primary School welcomed everyone at the beginning of Mass and Mr Andrew Leighton, Principal of St Clare’s Primary school reflected upon the journey to establish St Clare’s and the great joy the opening of this new school was for the Parish community.

The gathering of all staff provided a great opportunity to come to together as a parish community to celebrate the Eucharist and reaffirm the importance of Catholic Education. At the conclusion of Mass morning tea was held in St James Parish Hall before each school returned to their campus to continue with professional learning and preparation for the return of students.
