Winter Sleepout 2014

Recently Thomas Carr College ran the 3rd Annual St. Vinnies Winter Sleepout “Homelessness”. Great success is due to all the 26 staff and 57 students that volunteered with  planning, setting up, assisting with the night's activities and spending the night in the school gymnasium.

The night opened with special guest speakers, Mr Pete Burns from Life coach sharing his personal experience with homelessness. Joanne Torr from The Footscray Soup Van discussed the work of volunteers that dedicate their time to feed the disadvantaged and most importantly engage them in conversation. Members from St. Peter’s Young Vinnies also gave us insights into their many works and fund raising activities.
