Melbourne Archbishop Denis Hart performed the Solemn Blessing during the Official Opening of the Bruce Runnalls Middle Years Centre at Thomas Carr College on Thursday 6 March. The new $7millon purpose built state of the art education facility was completed in late 2013 to accommodate this year’s Year 7 students. It includes twenty general purpose learning areas, two Science laboratories, associated preparation and staff rooms and a computer Centre. The College was honoured to have Archbishop Hart and Executive Director of the Catholic Education Office in Melbourne, Mr Stephen Elder attend the blessing and opening of the Centre. “Today marks a significant occasion in the life of our College where we are able to honour our second principal, Mr Bruce Runnalls, with the naming of this magnificent Middle Years Centre, said Dr. Andrew Watson. Dr Watson also expressed his gratitude to the Catholic Development Fund (CDF) for providing the finance for the project. “The completion of this project has now provided our College with the infrastructure to ensure our students are able to learn within a contemporary learning environment,” he said.
