Sacred Music Concert

10 May 2018 | General Interest

On Thursday May 10, a number of schools from the Western Region of Melbourne came together to present a Sacred Music Concert. The Sacred Music Concert was designed to bring schools within the Western Region together as a Catholic Community and to celebrate their Catholic Identity.

Choirs from Caroline Chisholm Catholic College, Catholic Regional College Caroline Springs, Marian College, Mount St Josephs Girls' College, Sacred Heart College Geelong, St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School and Thomas Carr College performed on the night.

Tenor Micheal Lapina, member of the Thomas Carr College Board of Management and father of three Thomas Carr College choir members, performed a moving rendition of The Lord’s Prayer. Michael has been engaged with many of Australia’s leading opera houses to perform some of the most coveted tenor roles in the operatic repertoire. It was a privilege to watch such a beautiful performance.

The Thomas Carr College Staff Choir, accompanied by staff from the other schools also performed on the night.

The staff and students of the schools involved should be commended on their preparations and performances at this Inaugural Concert; it was a truly magical evening for all.
