ANZAC Day Marches

25 April 2017 | General Interest

On Sunday April 23, the Middle School Captains Alex Lapina and Hayley Luca represented Thomas Carr College at the Werribee Pre ANZAC Day March.

The march assembled at the Wyndham Cultural Centre on Watton St in Werribee and proceeded down to the Cenotaph on the corner of Watton St and Station St. On arrival at the Cenotaph, the Middle School Captains participated in a traditional ANZAC Day service and wreath laying ceremony, laying a wreath down on behalf of the College community in honor and remembrance of those who gave up their lives for our freedom. At the completion of the service, the march departed at the Cenotaph and proceeded back to the Werribee RSL for afternoon tea. Here, Hayley and Alex were given the opportunity to mingle with members of the wider community, War Veterans and students from other schools in the area.

The ANZAC Day March and Service of Remembrance at the Shrine on Tuesday April 25 was once again attended by a number of our College Leaders who participated in the March as Flag Bearers for the Malaya and Borneo Veterans, Werribee Branch.
