Annual Staff Award

2 August 2013 | General Interest

The College staff were asked to nominate a member of staff who they believe lives out the College Vision and Mission Statement. The criteria for the successful recipient is someone who has demonstrated and displayed the following qualities during the past 12 months:

- A commitment to the Catholic Identity of the College
- Engendered School spirit
- Involvement in the co-curricular life of the College
- Engagement in the life of the College has been above and beyond normal expectations
- Demonstrated a professional approach to all aspects of College life

I was pleased to have received many nominations but in the end, there was one very deserving recipient. I am very pleased to announce that this year’s recipient of the Thomas Carr College Staff Award is Ms Tara Sherlock.

Ms Sherlock was appointed to the staff in 2010. She has actively participated in nearly every College liturgy, production, musical and a host of other College events and activities. She has been actively seeking to improve the educational outcomes of our students and worked tirelessly to develop a harmonious working relationship with all staff. Ms Sherlock has consistently demonstrated, through her actions and interactions with staff, students and parents, that she is indeed engaged in the life of the College.

In addition to these many professional qualities, Ms Sherlock has a great sense of humour, enjoys her time at the College and encourages all those around her to do likewise.

Comments from the nomination form regarding Ms Sherlock include that she is a well respected individual who is respectful to all members of our community, assists anyone in whatever capacity she can, she puts in 100% into everything she does, she is supportive of College programs, has positive attitude towards the College and is welcoming of new staff.
