20th Anniversary Mass

26 February 2016 | General Interest

On Friday February 26 the College community gathered at St Patrick’s Cathedral for the 20th Anniversary Mass celebrated by Bishop Peter Connors. Bishop Peter is the Emeritus Bishop of Ballarat and was the Auxiliary Bishop for the Western Region when Thomas Carr College was established and played an important role in its formation. Con-celebrating alongside Bishop Peter were the College’s three Canonical Administrators Father Jude Pirotta, Father Pius Kodakkathanath and Father Frank Buhagair. We were also delighted to have our past Canonical Administrators Father Peter Ray, Father Barry Tobin and Father Greg Bourke on hand as well as Monsignor Greg Bennett, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Melbourne, and friends of the College Father Mario Zammit, Father Barry Ryan, Father Minh Tran and Father Benneth Osuagwu..

Also in attendance at the Mass were Mr Paul D’Astoli, Foundation Principal of Thomas Carr College along with his wife Mary, Mr Stephen Elder, Executive Director of Catholic Education Melbourne, Mr Rob Aron, General Manager for the Western Region, Councilor Glenn Goodfellow from Wyndham City Council along with past and present Board Members, and Principals from other Catholic Secondary Schools..

The Eucharistic celebration of the College’s significant events are always an integral part of Thomas Carr’s Catholic Identity and Friday’s celebration was very much that, highlighted by the College’s wonderful choir who lead the Mass so beautifully.
