Dr Gaillardetz is the Joseph Professor of Catholic Systematic Theology at Boston College and the Director of Graduate Studies. Dr Gaillardetz has previously taught at the University of Toledo and the University of St. Thomas’ Graduate School of Theology in Houston. He received a B.A. in Humanities from the University of Texas, an M.A. in Biblical Theology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, and both an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in Systematic Theology. PL Day

During the course of the day Dr Gaillardetz discussed many aspects of Vatican II including the history of the Council, the key documents, discussions and debates that occur during the four council sessions and outlined the key contributions of Vatican II.

The staff of Mt St Joseph Girls College and Thomas Carr College were indeed very fortunate to have participated in such an engaging and informative professional learning day facilitated by an internationally renowned theologian. This wonderful opportunity would not have been possible without the Principals Association of Victorian Catholic Secondary Schools organisation and sponsorship of Dr Gaillardetz tour throughout Victoria over the past three weeks.
