Lianyungang Foreign Language School

Thomas Carr College recently hosted students from our partner school in Lianyungang. They will be undertaking VCE in 2013 and the visit gave them an opportunity to see what Victorian education is all about.

The Lianyungang students were partnered with our Year 10 students and attended class with them. It was an eye opening experience for the Chinese, who also attended special Physics and Chemistry practical experiments in our laboratories. By the end of the visit some firm friendships were made and students from Thomas Carr recognised that they had a lot in common with their Chinese counterparts.

They great thing about this program is that it allows students from the two different cultures to engage with each other as well as for our students to understand the international stage of which they, and Australia, are now a part. We look forward to a time when students for Thomas Carr will travel to China.
