Catholic Identity at Thomas Carr College

Our Catholic Identity programs at Thomas Carr College provides staff and students with the opportunity to develop the vital components of knowledge, understanding, appreciation and celebration of the living Catholic faith in today’s world.

We aim to have a dynamic, creative and inclusive program where students experience a love of faith, develop an advanced understanding and acceptance of the College Vision and Mission Statement and promote the ideals and values of the Catholic Church.

Across all year levels, our Religious Education teachers play a crucial role in facilitating enriching curriculum. They develop the critical thinking skills of students essential for understanding religious and ethical issues. Students are provided with opportunities to reflect and centre their lives on God. Teaching students the history and practice of Christian Meditation is a way of giving them a gift of prayer that they can draw on for the rest of their lives. Students are also encouraged to reflect regularly in open dialogue with their families about what they are studying in their classes.

Through the Religious Education program, we instil a religious culture that permeates through every aspect of the life of the College.
