Nakkita Egan

Mrs Nakkita Egan was appointed to the staff of Thomas Carr College in January 2011 as a Religious Education and English teacher. She has held a number of positions of leadership including Year 7 Co-ordinator and Acting Head of Middle School. Mrs Egan is a member of the College Executive, Chair of the Catholic Identity Team and the School Improvement Framework (Education and Faith Sphere) Group Leader.

Nakkita commenced her teaching career at Thomas Carr College as a graduate teacher having completed a double degree with a Bachelor of Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Theology and English Literature, at the Australian Catholic University. She is currently studying her Masters of Education (Student Wellbeing) again at the Australian Catholic University.

As Director of Catholic Identity, Mrs Egan aims to nurture the faith of the Thomas Carr College community by providing knowledge and understanding, as well as spiritual experiences that develop life giving relationships with others and God.

She leads the Catholic Identity team consisting of the Head of Learning: Religious Education, Liturgy Co-ordinator, Social Justice Co-ordinator and the College Chaplain. This team have enormous energy, devotion and passion which assist in the development of the new Horizons of Hope curriculum, liturgy, faith development, outreach programs and special events within the College.
